Encryption

For an additional layer of security, the database file can optionally be encrypted before storage with 256–bit AES-GCM encryption. This requires an encryption key (which can be generated by the application). Decryption requires a decryption key and a decryption initialization vector (which changes with each encryption). The key and initialization vector values are to be noted at the time of encryption.
